JCSA “TUNA FEVER” RULES AND REGULATIONS 2021
1 At least one member must attend the captains’ meeting.
2 All state and federal rules apply.
3 Fish species available for weigh-in awards are yellowfin tuna, longfin tuna, bigeye tuna, dolphin. Bluefin tuna are not eligible for awards.
4 All tackle IGFA Rules apply.
5 All Participants are assumed to have all necessary permits and registrations

6 All boats must return to Manasquan inlet with fish to be weighed at Capt. Bill’s Landing.
7 There is a maximum of 125 Nautical miles from Inlet which you are departing from.
8 Each boat is permitted to fish 2 days, Either 2-day trips or 1 Overnighter and MUST BE DECLARED when you are checking out via text.
9 Boats may not leave their inlet before 12am and must be inside Manasquan Inlet by 7pm.
10 Any boat leaving their inlet before Midnight will be disqualified!
11 All boats must declare their fishing day (days) by midnight the evening of departure.
12 To declare a fishing day, you must text 732-773-9210 and leave the following message...Entrants’ name, Boat number, time
of call, selection of overnight or single day trip. Should there be a problem; the alternate phone # is 732-773-3409.
Fishing days can only be declared via text number.
13 VHF Channel 72 will be the channel for all tournament related communications and channel 65 would be the alternate.
14 In the event of a participating boat being disabled prior to declared fishing day they may transfer to a substitute vessel
and use the disabled vessels boat number. Any and all calcutta money from the disabled vessel will be transferred to
the new vessel. The disabled and the new vessel MUST BE REPORTED TO THE JSCA COMMITTEE PRIOR TO DEPARTURE.
15 In the event of a breakdown after departure they will be granted a Substitute fishing day...NO REFUNDS...The boat
must call in the breakdown by 8am to JCSA Official Rick Carroll at 732-773-3409 or Billy Davis at 201-401-0287.
The report should include boat name and number and a description of the breakdown including the time and location.
16 All boats returning to their inlets Even if they do not have a fish to weigh MUST REPORT THEY ARE IN PORT SAFELY. THIS IS MANDATORY!
17 There will be no transferring of fish from boat to boat.
18 Upon weighing in your fish, the angler who landed the fish will be required to fill out Official JCSA Weigh slip that must be signed by the angler and the weigh master.
19 This is a trolling, jigging or chunking tournament.
20 USE OF HARPOONS IS PROHIBITED!
21 Any protests must be made to the JCSA Weigh master while the fish is hanging on the scale.
The weigh master shall serve as judge and all his decisions are final!
22 JCSA reserves the right to engage a marine biologist to determine species freshness, and condition in any protest.
23 The tournament directors, Sponsors, and hosting facility assume NO LIABILITY OR RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSS.
24 All winners will be required to submit their social security number and photo ID before prizes will be rewarded.
They MUST fill out all required paperwork and a 1099 will be issued...NO EXCEPTIONS!
25 In the event that the tournament is not filled 100% a straight % of cash prizes will be awarded based on the amount of boats entered.
26 In the event of a tie the 1st fish weighed in will be declared the winner.
27 If no 2nd and 3rd place fish are weighed in all monies will go to 1st place.
28 All interpretation of the rules and final decisions will rest with the JCSA.
29 The JSCA reserves the right to deny entry to any vessel for any reason.
30 THE CAPTAIN IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SAFETY OF HIS CREW AND VESSEL.
31 The Tournament may be cancelled or postponed by the Tournament Committee.
32 In the event that the Tournament is cancelled or no eligible tuna are landed the winner will be determined
by a drawing or a rain date will be set.
33 All Calcutta money less 10% charitable donations to NJ Make a Wish Foundation, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital and
Carmelena Cares will be refunded if no eligible tuna or mahi mahi are caught.
I understand that in conjunction with engaging in this tournament, I could experience hazards and would be involved in certain risks.
I further recognize that it would be impractical as well as unfair for the Jersey Coast Shark Anglers, its officers, directors and committee members, sponsors, and all persons
or boat owners and crew directly involved in, or connected with this tournament to be liable or responsible in any way for the safety of me or my crew.
I hereby release, hold harmless and forever discharge the Tournament and its officers, directors, and committee members, sponsors, the boat owners and their crew from liability and or libel, slander, loss, damage, harm, injury or death suffered by me or my crew or which may occur during this tournament.
I do understand this includes any claims based upon any negligent act or mission. I do understand that I entered this tournament at my own risk.
I do hereby agree to the terms and conditions of this general release and agree to abide by the rules and
regulations for competition in the JCSA TUNA FEVER tournament and affix my signature hereto.
