Jersey Coast Shark Anglers
INTRACLUB TOURNAMENT RULES
ANGLER OF THE YEAR (AOTY) –
This is a free tournament.
This is a multi species, year long tournament (Jan. 1 – Dec. 31).
Nine divisions: Fluke, Sea Bass, Flounder, Striped Bass, Blackfish, Bluefish, Mako Shark, Tuna
(Yellow Fin, Bluefin, Bigeye, Long Fin, False Albacore, Bonito, Skip Jack) & Weakfish.
Fish must be caught in New Jersey waters (outside three miles is OK, as long as you left and returned to a New Jersey port) and weighed in at a local tackle shop or marina in the area. The weigh slip must identify the tackle shop or marina and include the date the fish was caught, club members name, species and weight.
Weigh slip must be turned in within 1 weeks of end of month.
The minimum length allowed by the state and federal government for a Mako Shark is 54”.
All decisions by the AOTY administrator are final.
This is an individual angler event. You have to be on the rod. Being on the boat doesn’t count.
Prize money will be given out at the end of the year
MONTH LONG TOURNAMENTS –
This is a free tournament.
Weigh slips must be submitted within one week of the catch date and mailed or put in the
AOTY’s weigh box at the Club.
You can fish every day of the month(s) that the Tournament is running.
An individual can only win one prize money position in each monthly(s) tournament.
Prize money will be given out at the next general meeting, after the month of that particular tournament.
April – Flounder
May – Striped Bass
June – Striped Bass & Mako
July – Fluke
Aug – Fluke
Sept – Bluefish & Weakfish
Oct – Striped Bass
Nov – Striped Bass & Blackfish
Dec - Blackfish
CLUB’S PUBLIC TOURNAMENTS –
Prizes will be awarded for Mako Fever, Fluke, Striped Bass and Blackfish Tournaments.
Members must be on the boat entered and they must catch the fish.
Participation must take place on the same day and hours of the public tournament.
All public tournament rules will apply where applicable, including weight and species.
Fish must be weighed from boat at Official Weigh dock and scale during tournament hours.
Entry fee and application must be completed and submitted if the member decides to fish more than one day.
This applies to the multiple day tournaments.
One cash prize only for each tournament. In the event of a tie, the money will be divided equally.
If no eligible fish are caught by participating club member, the prize money
will NOT be rolled over and no drawing will be held.
If the tournament is cancelled entry fee will be returned.
Prize structure is $250 per tournament.
